Discount Phone Service

According to Shelly Sparks from VS #68, VR and VS clients are eligible for low-income telephone support programs called Lifeline and Link-up.

*  Basic Lifeline discounts on phone bills can be up to $10.00 per month.

*  Basic Link-Up pays for one-half of wireline or wireless installation or activation fee,
not including the handset, up to $30.

The link includes information about which phone companies are participating and some areas which can't participate in the northwest and southwest part of the state.

The client's phone company sends the client a postcard, which VR/VS staff date stamp to indicate they are VR or VS clients.  The client returns the postcard to the phone company to qualify for the phone discount.
